Amongst the strangest items I have “smuggled” into Brazil from the USA: 5,000 extra large coffee filters. Probably as out of the ordinary as working with a bride who would trust me enough to consider them part of her wedding decoration. But, really, the pleated shape of this household item creates the perfect mimic of beautiful flower clouds.
All in all nine balls were hung from the lightbulbs at Mani-oca buffet last Saturday. The effect was beautiful! And they couldn’t be easier to do…I suppose the hardest part would be getting the filters. (I have yet to find this kind in Brazil.)
What you need:
Japanese Laterns
Coffee Filters
Lots of hot glue and a glue gun
Patience….it is a lengthy process
Insert 3-4 filters inside of eachother and open as if they were the petals of a flower.
Glue, Glue, Glue!
